Dominikus is a digital artist and software developer from Munich, Germany. His main focus is generative art, a dance of simple rules coupled with randomness that results in unexpected, emergent outcomes. He spends hours in the back-and-forth with the machine, tweaking and refreshing, learning about and ultimately understanding the underlying system and its output. The resulting art is a symbiosis of spirit and repetitive brute force. Dominikus cites his aesthetical influences as the graphic design of the mid 20th century and Bauhaus - stark lines and contrasts, bold colors and geometry, but coupled with the imperfections of manual creation - but at the same time, also pixel art and the arcade- and video games of the 1980s.
